The Peruvian jungle Manu

The most tropical region of Peru is the rainforest counting the Manu jungle and the Manu Biosphere Reserve which is  one of the best places to experience the amazing rainforest terrain.

A visit to this incredible reserve is well spent as it offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich wildlife of the jungle seeing as The Manu Biosphere Reserve protects a greater number of plant and animal species than any other South American nature park (with the exception of remote Madidi in Bolivia). Its protection covers 1,000 species of birds, more than 200 species of mammals (100 of which are bats), and 15,000 species of flowering plants.

The Manu National Park is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as one of the most important National Parks in South America. Within the Park its possible to experience all of the ecological zones existing in the Amazon Basin, as the Park ranges in altitude from 150 to 4200 metres making it the largest National Park in Peru, covering an area of 15,328 km². It is easy to access Manu by plane to both Lima and Cuzco.
