Day 1:
Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer by executive
car to the five star deluxe
Miraflores Park. Opportunity
for a massage before dinner.
Day 2:
After breakfast, a city tour of Lima including a guided visit
to the cathedral, the main square and the San Francisco Catacombs.
Lunch at the International Rosa Nautica. Visit to a museum
of your choice.
Return to the hotel. Dinner at Astrid and Gaston.
Day 3:
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Cuzco,
the ancient Inca capital. After the one hour flight, reception
and transfer to the wonderful five star
Monasterio hotel;
ancient residence of the viceroy of Spain. After lunch, a
guided tour of Cuzco including the cathedral, Qoricancha temple,
the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman overlooking Cuzco, Qenko
and Puka Pukara. Return to the hotel. Dinner in the evening
followed by a folkloric show.
Day 4:
Full-day excursion to Urubamba, the sacred valley
of the Incas and to the ancient Inca market town of Pisac.
Lunch in Urubamba. A visit will be made to Ollantaytambo,
the only Inca town that was not defeated by the Spanish. A
chance to explore the ruins before returning to Cuzco and
the traditional market town of Chinchero. Return to your hotel.
Dinner.
Day 5:
Transfer to Poroy, a short distance from Cuzco for the luxurious
Hiram Bingham train to Aguas Calientes. Full day's guided
tour of Machu Picchu, the most spectacular ancient city in
the world. Lunch, dinner and accommodation at
Machu Picchu
Sanctuary Lodge.
Day 6:
Opportunity to enjoy a wonderful sunrise over Machu
Picchu and some personal time for private reflection. Lunch
at the Sanctuary lodge. Return to Cuzco in the evening aboard
the luxury Hiram Bingham train. Cocktails followed by dinner
aboard the train. Reception and transfer to
Monasterio hotel.
Day 7:
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Puerto Maldonado. Reception at the airport. Convenient check-in at the Inkaterra Butterfly Farm. Land transfer to boarding wharf where you begin your rainforest experience on the 45-minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River. After arrival at
Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica lodge there will be a short briefing, then feel free to settle into your beautiful cabaña and have lunch in the dining room. After lunch, free time to enjoy a siesta followed by a refreshing tea time. Then a guided walk along the Trail system in the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica natural area. First night Twilight River excursion. Afternoon cocktails followed by dinner served in the main dining room from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Retire early or join us to talk about your first day experience of life in the rainforest. Overnight at the Lodge
Day 8:
Rest in bed or rise up early for the full breakfast buffet which begins at 5:30 a.m. to avoid the heat and enjoy nature at its fullest. Visit the Sandoval Lake in the Tambopata National Reserve, then return to the Inkaterra lodge for lunch. After lunch – take the Inkaterra Canopy Walk, you may extend your excursion to appreciate the sunset from one of the towers. Back to the lodge for cocktails in the main dining room or during the daily nature presentation in the Eco-Media Center. Dinner starts at 7:30 p.m. Overnight at the Lodge.
Day 9:
Enjoy a trip to Gamitana Creek, which is 45 minutes by boat from the Inkaterra lodge. Upon arrival, we will venture to the Gamitana Farm where we will enjoy our picnic lunch followed by a short guided tour to see how local farmers raise fruits and vegetables. Afternoon free at leisure. Overnight at the Lodge Close.
Day 10:
Enjoy a full breakfast before departure on the 45-minute return boat trip on the Madre de Dios River to Puerto Maldonado to visit the Inkaterra Butterfly Farm near the airport. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Lima. Reception and transfer to the
Miraflores Park hotel. Time for relaxing in the health spa before a delicious dinner at an internationally renowned restaurant.
Day 11:
Leisurely day with plenty of opportunity for some shopping
before your transfer to the airport and your return flight
home.
