ITINERARY
Day 1. LIMA
Arrival to Lima, reception at the airport and transfer by private luxury vehicle to the deluxe 5* Miraflores Park Hotel or Marriott Hotel.

Day 2. LIMA (B, L & D)
After a leisurely breakfast, a private guided visit of colonial and modern Lima in a private minibus, including the cathedral, dating from 1654, the main square, which still houses the original bronze fountain built in 1650, and the San Francisco Convent and its catacombs. Known as the city of the kings, Lima was founded in 1535 by Pizarro and rebuilt in 1991, the same year that UNESCO declared it a world heritage site. One of the very few South American cities that preserve the colonial past, Lima was home to the Spanish viceroy during the time of the Spanish colonialists. After lunch, a visit to the Larco Museum. The museum includes several permanent exhibitions including the gold and silver gallery, showcasing the largest and finest collection of jewelry used by many notable rulers of pre-Columbian Peru. Return to your hotel. Dinner at a very exclusive residence.

Day 3. LIMA – CUZCO – URUBAMBA (B, L & D)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital of the Incas. Transfer to your private vehicle and embark on a one hour thirty minute drive to the Sacred Valley before transferring to your hotel in the Urubamba. Rest and enjoy the serene location of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Private car with driver and guide will be at your disposal although we recommend that you have a leisurely day on your first day at high altitude.

Day 4. URUBAMBA (B, L & D)
After a good night’s rest, a fresh breakfast will prepare you for a private full-day excursion to the most important sites of the Urubamba. The first visit will be a brief visit to the ancient Inca market town of Pisac. Here you will see all the local produce of the area and purchase some handicrafts, textiles or ornaments. We will then drive above the market town to see the infrequently visited Pisaq ruins, one of the finest and largest in the entire valley. After lunch in a very special hacienda, visit to the ruins at Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town that was not defeated by the Spanish. A chance to explore the ruins before returning to Urubamba. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 5. URUBAMBA – POROY - MACHU PICCHU (B, BR & D)
After breakfast a private transfer to the rail station at Poroy, for the luxurious Hiram Bingham train to Aguas Calientes. This Orient Express train is the most exclusive way to visit Machu Picchu and includes a hearty brunch aboard the train. Arrival to Aguas Calientes and transfer to your unique residence in the cloud forests. Once you have checked-in, you will board the bus with your guide for the short ride up to Machu Picchu, the ancient Inca citadel. A private guided tour of Machu Picchu, the most spectacular ancient city in the world. Return to your hotel for accommodation and a delicious dinner.

Day 6. MACHU PICCHU – CUZCO (B, L & D)
Opportunity to return to the site and enjoy a wonderful sunrise over Machu Picchu or if you prefer, enjoy a good rest and return mid morning. Time for some private reflection. A guide is not normally provided as we feel that Machu Picchu requires a certain amount of self discovery to be fully understood. However, your guide will always be available if you would like to visit various other sites in the sanctuary such as the temple of the moon or the Inca’s bridge. Lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge restaurant before returning back down to Aguas Calientes by bus. Some free time before boarding the Hiram Bingham train in the early evening with your guide. Arrival to Poroy after 9PM, reception and transfer to Cusco, the ancient city of the Incas. Transfer to your private residence.

Day 7. CUZCO (B, L & D)
After breakfast, private guided tour of the site outside of Cuzco including the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman overlooking Cuzco, Qenko, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara. Return to Cuzco for lunch. The tour will finish with a visit to the fine Inca museum. Return to your residence for some relaxation. Dinner.

Optional Day 8. CUZCO –CHOQUEQUIRAO (B, L & D)
An optional day allowing for a visit to the ‘other Machu Picchu’, Choquequirao. Please ask for details of this ultra special option.

Day 9. CUZCO – JULIACA - PUNO (B, L & D)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Juliaca. Arrival, reception and transfer o Puno, lying on the shores of Lake Titicaca. We will accompany you to your residence, at your exclusive lake view suite.
Day 10. PUNO (B, L & D)
Visit the islands of Uros is made entirely of reeds and inhabited by the Aymara Uros people, they live in huts built on platforms of reeds, not more than 30-40 cms/1foot thick. Short hike on the islands, then the boat trip continues as far as the island of Taquile. Members of this self supporting Aymara community receive visitors in their colourful national costume and show them around the island. Taquile is also renowned for its fine, decorative weavings. Return to Puno and your hotel.
Day 11. PUNO – JULIACA - LIMA
