20 Day Tour Through Central America With Nicaragua
20 days / 19 nights.

Arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport. Transfer and accommodation at Barcelo San Jose with buffet dinner and one drink included.
Day 2 SAN JOSE - ARENAL VOLCANO (B,L,D)
830am after your breakfast depart to Arenal volcano, on route stop at Sarchi town, also the hanging bridges at Mistico park. Ending your day at Baldi thermals with dinner included.
Overnight in Arenal.
After breakfast, transfer to Tortuguero (4-hour drive), you will have the breakfast on the way at Guapiles, today you will visit Tortuguero . Overnight at Pachira lodge. Pachira lodge is strategically located in front of the main lagoon, just 5 minutes by boat from the National Tortuguero Park and 3 minutes from the picturesque town by the same name.
Today you will visit Tortuguero National Park, where this park is located in northeastern Costa Rica, known for its biodiversity, canals, and its importance as a nesting site for sea turtles, especially green turtles. The park is characterized by lush tropical rainforests, wildlife, and a network of waterways. Dinner will be on the way. Overnight at Liberia .
Day 5: LIBERIA - PENAS BLANCAS - SAN JUAN DEL SUR - GRANADA (B,L,D)
9am Depart to the border for Nicaragua which will take about 2 hrs, your guide will help you with the paper work. Reception and guided transfer from Peñas Blancas border to San Juan del Sur. Lunch included. Free time at the beautiful San Juan del Sur Bay.
4:00 PM: Visit the Mirador del Cristo de la Misericordia and transfer to the colonial city of Granada. Dinner included in Granada. Accommodation at Hotel Plaza Colon (Standard).
Breakfast at the hotel.
10:00 AM: This all-inclusive tour allows you to discover the best of Nicaragua in a single day. In the morning, explore Granada, the most beautiful, captivating, and photogenic Spanish-colonial city. It is also the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in Nicaragua, founded by Spanish captain Francisco Hernández de Córdoba in 1524. Enjoy a pleasant boat trip through the lush and romantic volcanic islets of Lake Nicaragua. Lunch included.
In the afternoon, visit the colorful Crafts Market in the city of Masaya. At the end of the day, explore one of the world's most active volcanoes, Masaya Volcano National Park, and discover the active lava lake in the Santiago crater—one of the eight lava lakes on the planet. Dinner included in Granada. Accommodation at Hotel Plaza Colon in Granada.
After breakfast at the hotel, expedition to the trails of Mombacho Volcano Natural Reserve, one of Nicaragua's most beautiful landscapes. Enjoy walking along natural paths through cloud forests and dwarf forests, observing local flora and fauna, fumaroles, and incredible views of Granada and the Islets of Lake Nicaragua. You'll also visit the Pre-Columbian Ceramic Villages of San Juan de Oriente and Catarina, with their spectacular viewpoint and artisan market. Lunch included at the viewpoint. Return to Granada and dinner included. Accommodation at Hotel Plaza Colon in Granada.
Day 8: MANAGUA - EL SALVADOR (B,L,D)
After breakfast, discover the most interesting places in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua since 1852. Destroyed by an earthquake in 1972, it is today the entrance to adventure; culture and natural wonders of Nicaragua. This half-day tour includes a visit to the Central Park; Old Cathedral Santiago de los Caballeros; "Rubén Darío" National Theater; Loma de Tiscapa Historical Park, Paseo Xolotlán and Puerto Salvador Allende on the shores of Lake Managua.Transfer to the airport at 16.30pm to take the flight at 19.00 to San Salvador.
Arrive in San Salvador, dinner at Balcones Restaurant en route from the airport, later overnight at hotel.
Morning visit of the capital San Salvador including zona rosa, residential areas, walking tour in the city center: El Rosario Church, Monsenor Romerio memorial site, The new Library. LUNCH and continue to Joya de ceren , called the Pompeii of America. It's a Maya village that was preserved by layers of ash from a nearby volcano and discovered by accident in 1977. Continue to the bird nest hotel, a hotel in the the middle of a coffee forest , relax and enjoy the fresh air and the sound of nature. Dinner included.
Day 10: TESAK MUSEUM - SAN ANDRES RUINS - CERRO VERDE (B,L,D)After breakfast, depart from your hotel to visit the best private museum in the region Tesak foundation and also learn how this project has helped the young people in the community. After we visit the San Andres Maya ruins. Stop for an overlook of Coatepeque lake for lunch at la Pampa. During the afternoon, we will visit Cerro Verde national park and walk in the forest, enjoy the views of Izalco, Santa Ana volcanoes and the valleys. Overnight at Cero Verde Casa 1800.
Day 11: CERRO VERDE - SANTA ANA - COPAN RUINS (B, L, D )
After breakfast, depart from your hotel to the Maya ruins of Copan, en route you will visit Santa Ana, El Salvador's second largest city with its restored city center, continue to the border El Salvador / Guatemala / Honduras . Arrive at mid afternoon and free time to explore the town.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided visit of the mayan ruins of Copan, which were not excavated until the 19th century. The ruined citadel and imposing public squares reveal the three main stages of development before the city was abandoned in the early 10th century. The tour includes las sepulturas ( The residential area ), the acropolis and the Museum. Lunch and at mid afternoon we visit the conservation project of the parrott, a native bird from the area.
Overnight in Copan.
After breakfast we depart to Guatemala city ( Travel time approx. 6 hours ) and arrive at you hotel. Lunch. At mid afternoon we will have panoramic drive in the Guatemala capital, including the city center. Stop for dinner in one of the new entertainment areas. Overnight in Guatemala City.
Day 14: GUATEMALA CITY (B,L,D) THURSDAY OR SUNDAY ONLYFrom Guatemala City we will visit the Chichicastenango market, known as the most colorful Market in Central America, where different Maya groups travel from other regions to trade the colorful textile, ceramics, traditional medicine and more. After, we travel to Atitlan Lake and the town of Panajachel.
Day 15: VOLCANO AND ATITLAN (B,L,D)After breakfast, you will visit the Pacaya volcano, and be prepared for rough terrain and a moderately challenging trek do a walk to the active volcano with a guide where its common to see the rivers of lava flowing. Continue onto Atitlan lake and overnight in a boutique hotel overlooking the lake. Dinner.
Day 16: ATITLAN - ANTIGUA (B,L,D)After breakfast, enjoy a boat tour on the Atitlan lake and visit one of the villages on the shore, then we continue to Antigua Guatemala, the best preserved colonial town in the region and once the capital of all central America.
Day 17: ANTIGUA (B,L,D)After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of the historic town. Free afternoon at leisure.
Day 18: ANTIGUA - BELIZE (B,L,D)After breakfast, transfer from Antigua to the airport to take your short flight to Belize. Arrive and enjoy a panoramic tour of Belize. Visit The Belize Sign Monument, explore St. Herman's Cave. Overnight in Belize city.
Day 19: BELIZE - BLUE HOLE (B,L,D)Morning boat ride to the blue hole. The Great Blue Hole is a giant marine sinkhole off the coast of Belize. It lies near the center of Lighthouse Reef, a small atoll 70 km from the mainland and Belize City. The hole is circular in shape, 318 m across and 124 m deep. It has a surface area of 70,650 square metres, continue to Hol Chan marine reserve by boat before returning to Belize.
Day 20: BELIZE (B)After breakfast, transfer to the airport.
