Cuba and Mexico Highlights

Arrival to Havana. Reception and welcome and start of your panoramic tour of Havana. Founded on its present site in 1519, the settlement of San Cristóbal de La Habana prospered mainly due to its bay, which was a natural port of call for ships sailing to and from the New World. This was one of the main historical reasons for the subsequent development of a city noted for its architectural diversity and whose nucleus still contains an exceptional collection of buildings put up around public squares, and has led UNESCO to declare it a part of its world heritage in 1982. Lunch at Club 500 before transfer to Varadero and your all inclusive resort, the 4 star Memories Varadero or similar Dinner. Free day at leisure.

Breakfast in the hotel. Continue your tour on toward Santa Clara with a visit to the Che Guevara Memorial and the Tren Blindada Museum. With the monument of Che at the Plaza de la Revolucion Ernesto Guevara, including a huge bronze statue of Che. The remains of Che and his comrades who fell in Bolivia have been interred at this site and the mausoleum is open to the public. Under the monument is a museum, the "Museo Historico de la Revolucion" with excellent displays about Che's life and role in the revolution. Lunch before continuing onto Trinidad, one of the first villages founded by the Spaniards at the beginnings of the 16th century. It was declared by UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Mankind. Visit to the Main Parochial Church of the Holy Trinity housing a luxurious altar decorated with local precious stones, and images 300 years old; Visit to the Plaza Mayor, and Count Brunet Palace. Transfer to your all inclusive resort, the 4 star Brisas Del Mar or similar. Dinner.

Breakfast in the hotel. Departure for Cienfuegos. Arrival in Cienfuegos and lunch at Club Cienfuegos. Tour of Cienfuegos' main streets and avenues. Founded by the French, Cienfuegos is located at a wonderful bay guarded by Castillo de Jagua (Jagua Castle) where you can find the largest coral site ever discovered in Cuba that was christened Notre Dame. Visits to: the Marti Park, the Palacio del Valle, the Tomas Terry Theatre, the House of Cultural Assets, and the Purisima Concepción Cathedral Continuation of tour to Havana and accommodation at 4 star Memories Miramar or similar. Night free. Dinner at own expense.

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer by an air-conditioned bus to Viñales Valley in Pinar del Rio, Cuba's most western province where the world's best tobacco is grown. Exotic landscape with valleys crowded with royal palms, the national tree. In-transit visit to a cigar factory in Candelaria. On the way to Viñales a visit to "El Paraíso" farm, where you will learn about the lifestyle of local peasants as well as about the growing of tobacco. In Viñales, visit to the Pre-historic Mural (cave painting on the country's most ancient rocks) and the Indian Cave, boating along its underground river. Lunch at Palenque de los Cimarrones restaurant. Stop at Los Jazmines lookout to admire the Viñales Valley. Return to hotel in Havana and accommodation at the 4 star Memories Miramar or similar. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the international flight to Cancun (flight not included in the land tour price). Arrival and transfer to Tulum. Accommodation at the 4* Niik Hotel or similar.

After breakfast, visit to the Chichen Itza site with your guide and arrive before the crowds. Enjoy a private tour of this magnificent archaeological site built by the Maya civilization between the 9th and 12th centuries. Its name means "at the mouth of the well of Itza" and is home to the Kukulkan Pyramid, also known as "El Castillo" (the castle), now one of the new seven wonders of the world. Chichen Itza was the principal ceremonial centre of the Yucatán. The tour will include the Great Ball court, the Temple of the Warriors and the sacred Cenote. After the tour, lunch before a visit to a cenote (a sinkhole found through the Yucatan peninsula) where you will take the trail down to the water´s edge and visit the fabulous cave with its stalactites and hanging vines. Returning to your hotel in Tulum. Free Night. Dinner at own expense.

After breakfast, depart Tulum past Cancun for an all-day adventure tour to Isla Contoy and Isla Mujeres aboard a high-speed catamaran. Discover an untouched paradise island that's home to sandy white beaches, palm trees and an extraordinary population of migratory birds. Spend the day snorkeling along Isla Contoy's thriving coral reef, where you'll find bright tropical fish, swaying fans and sea stars, then go to shore at picturesque Isla Mujeres before returning to Cancun. Lunch is included. Accommodation at the 4 star Wyndham Garden Downtown or similar. Free Night. Dinner at own expense.

After breakfast, a tour of Cozumel, a mostly undeveloped island rife with ancient ruins and history. Explore the island and delve deep into the Mayan heritage that permeates through the island. Visit the San Gervasio ruins, see historical monuments right on Casitas Beach, before relaxing on other scenic beaches. Enjoy a tequila tasting before lunch. Return to your hotel in Cancun. In the evening transfer to a cruise to enjoy a night cruise with dinner on board an authentic Spanish Galleon ship. Return to your hotel in Cancun.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for you flight home.
