After breakfast, a short tour of colonial Lima, including the cathedral, dating from 1654, the main square, which still houses the original bronze fountain built in 1650, and the San Francisco Convent and its catacombs. Return to your hotel for a free afternoon.

After breakfast, morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Cuzco. Arrival in Cuzco, reception and transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley, the Sol y Luna. This family run Relais & Chateaux hotel is an idyllically located hotel for you to enjoy at leisure. Complete with pool, spa and riding stables relax and unwind on your first day at altitude.

For today, you can choose from a selection of activities including quad biking, a cultural tour of the Sacred Valley with a visit to Pisaq market, a hike with several options to choose from, mountain biking, river rafting or horseback riding. Return to the Sol y Luna for accommodation.

After breakfast, transfer to the railway station for the departure to Aguas Calientes in Vistadome class train (upgrade to the super luxury Hiram Bingham train available on some days only) followed by a bus ride up to the spectacular Machu Picchu ruins (25 minutes).

Today you will have an opportunity to return to Machu Picchu for one last visit before returning in the afternoon to your hotel, the Sol y Luna in the Sacred Valley.

After breakfast, return to Cuzco and en route visit the ruins of Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay before arriving to your hotel, the deluxe Monasterio Hotel. Free evening at leisure.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Lima and connecting flight to San Jose in Costa Rica. Arrival and transfer to your hotel, the Real Inter-Continental.

After breakfast, private transfer from San Jose to Arenal and directly to the Springs resort and Spa, with a transfer time and distance of 3 hours / 147 km approximately.

After breakfast, private transfer with your guide to the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge located near the border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua and is one of the most important wetlands of the country. It was declared of worldwide importance due to the quantity of migratory birds which frequent. Just outside of the Refuge lies Frio River, which is the main water source for the refuge, breathing life into this magical area. Here you have a great possibility of observing animals.
On the way to the small village of Los Chiles, you will admire a large variety of traditional crops like pineapple and sugar cane, in addition to large cattle farms.
Once there you will head to Frio River to board the comfortable motorboat with ample visibility, covered in case of rain, and with life jackets. Together with a naturalist guide you will travel along the river for about 2 hours in search of monkeys, herons, sloths, caiman, turtles, and hundreds of other flora and fauna species that inhabit the area around the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge.

Afterwards, you will stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, before heading back to your hotel (It is highly recommended to bring light clothing, insect repellent and sun block). Important: for this activity it is necessary to carry your passport or identification because Caño Negro is in a border area and this document may be requested.
